BIBLE STUDY

Wednesday night 6:00-7:00pm

Topic

The book of Romans.

Purpose of Writing: In Romans Paul writes to share the Doctrine of Christ and encourage believers. Timing: As Paul finishes his work planting churches in the eastern half of the Roman Empire he head towards Spain via Rome. Here Paul writes to the believers in Rome to introduce the Doctrine of Christ and to ask for financial assistance to continue missions work in Spain. (Missionary Offering)

In Short: The letter to the Romans was written from Corinth just prior to Paul’s trip to Jerusalem to deliver the financial support that had been given for the poor there. He had intended to go to Rome and then on to Spain (Romans 15:24), but his plans were interrupted when he was arrested in Jerusalem. He would eventually go to Rome as a prisoner.

The Book or Romans: The letter to the Romans is thought to be the clearest and most systematic presentation of Christian doctrine in all the Scriptures. Here Paul shares God’s Plan for salvation and the Practicality to Live a Saved Life, So our living is representative or our belief.
